Passenger numbers are falling at Los Angeles International Airport.
October figures released this week show a 7.6 percent drop in LAX passenger volume compared to the same period last year. Air cargo volume dropped 14.17 percent in October.
There's been a steady seventh-month decline in passenger traffic at the airport. Los Angeles International Airport has seen an overall 2.67 percent decline in the first 10 months of 2008.
The trend is expected to continue as airlines slash flights in the deepening economic collapse.
Some 1.6 million passengers -- a 14.3 percent drop from last year -- are expected during the 10-day Thanksgiving travel period ending Sunday.
