Popular Soap Actress Busted For DUI In The Valley

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie on the ABC soap "General Hospital", was arrested in the San Fernando Valley on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the California Highway Patrol.

She is due in court in October.

Storms, 23, was arrested early Friday morning after a CHP officer saw a lit cigarette being thrown from her blue Mercedes on the Ventura (101) Freeway near Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to an arrest report obtained by the
celebrity news Web site TMZ.com.

Officers "noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle," according to the report, and Storms failed "several sobriety tests."

According to the Sheriff's Department, Storms was booked for a misdemeanor at 3:27 a.m. Friday at the Van Nuys jail, and was released several hours later after posting $5,000 bail.

She was scheduled to appear on Oct. 2 in Van Nuys Municipal Court, Div. 103, according to the Sheriff's Department.

In addition to her role as Bonnie Rockwaller on Disney's "Kim Possible," Storms portrayed Belle Black on "Days of Our Lives." She first came to prominence playing the title role in Disney's "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century" in 1999.
