Waters Calls On Feds To Probe Inglewood Shootings

INGLEWOOD (AP) ― State and federal officials are calling for additional investigations of the Inglewood Police Department after an officer shot and killed a man this week.

Rep. Maxine Waters says she plans to call for a federal probe at a news conference on Monday at City Hall.

The state Legislative Black Caucus has also called for California Attorney General Jerry Brown to investigate the shooting.

The July 21 death of 38-year-old Kevin Wicks was the third time in three months Inglewood police officers were involved in a fatal shooting. Wicks was shot by an officer who was still under investigation for his involvement in a fatal shooting in May.

The Inglewood Police Department is already conducting its own investigation.
