Teacher Pleads Guilty To Possessing Child Porn

LYNWOOD, Calif. A first-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School Monday pleaded "guilty as charged" to a single felony count of possession of child pornography.

"I willfully downloaded child pornography," Kenneth Edward Kothe said upon entering his plea before U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper in downtown Los Angeles.

Kothe, 61, of Alhambra, was arrested Nov. 28. Lynwood school district officials placed him on unpaid administrative leave shortly after his arrest.

Kothe faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine, but his plea agreement calls for a term of between 51 and 63 months behind bars.

Investigators found 114 image files and 13 movie files of prepubescent girls engaged in sexual acts with adult men on his computer, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
