A Los Angeles gang member has been sentenced to death for fatally shooting two people at a Watts housing project.
A Superior Court judge sentenced 32-year-old Kai Harris on Friday.
Prosecutors say he shot George Brooks and the man's cousin, Annette Anderson, in an apartment in 2004 over a drug money dispute.
Prosecutors say co-defendant Donte McDaniel shot two female witnesses, but they survived. Both men were convicted of murder and attempted murder.
The jury that convicted Harris two years ago deadlocked over his sentence. Another jury recommended the death penalty in September.
