Los Angeles police Tuesday said that a body found stuffed inside a suitcase this weekend in Buena Park was that of missing 28-year-old model Jasmine Fiore.
The coroner did not give a cause of death but an unconfirmed report says the model was apparently strangled.
Police are also on the hunt for Ryan Alexander Jenkins, described as "a person of interest" in the case. Jenkins is a Canadian man who also reported Fiore missing on Friday.
TMZ.com is reporting that Jenkins was a contestant on VH-1's "Megan Wants A Millionaire," a reality show on VH-1 that began airing this month.
The aforementioned Megan told TMZ.com that Fiore and Jenkins actually married two days after meeting. She said Jenkins was booted, went to Vegas and met Fiore who worked at the same strip club where Megan also worked.
Fiore was last seen at about 8:30 p.m. at her home in the 800 block of Edinburgh Avenue, near Melrose Avenue, according to her mother Lisa Lepore and authorities.
Police said she has not contacted her family since then.
Fiore recently moved to Los Angeles from Las Vegas with plans to start a personal training business, Lepore said.
She also changed her last name to Kinkaid, according to Lepore.
Her mother told City News Service that she visited with her daughter last week and she was not planning on going anywhere.
"It's just not like her to disappear," Lepore said in a telephone interview from Santa Cruz.
Fiore, an aspiring model, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighed about 120 pounds. She had brown hair that used to be blond, and blue eyes.
Lepore said her daughter has appeared as a model in advertising for radio personality Howard Stern and Las Vegas hotels and also worked for Playboy as a representative and coordinator for "Girls of Golf."
"She's not a pinup girl, but she has worked for them," Lepore said.
Investigators do not know the nature of the relationship between Fiore and Jenkins. The two were reportedly at a poker game together in San Diego Friday evening.
