Jackson Limousine Service Tuesday gave out 8,000 turkeys as part of its 21st Annual Turkey Dinner Giveaway.
"Hopefully I won't have to do this next year," said Geneva Rogers, who was recently laid off from her 19-year job. "I should be employed again by then, hopefully. And I thank God for being here today. It's a blessing."
Pam Watson waited in line for five hours.
"But it's worth it," she said. "It's a blessing. I thank God."
Organizer EJ Jackson, founder and president of Jackson Limousine Service, said he vowed to buy more if 8,000 turkeys wasn't enough.
"You see people from all walks of life in this line, and they're all helping," he said. "... Right now we need, we need to pull together."
