A La Puente man was killed on Tuesday when his speeding motorcycle collided with a van on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in West Covina, authorities said.
Alexander Horst, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident on the eastbound 10 at South Azusa Avenue was reported at 4:45 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos.
Horst, who was traveling at more than 90 mph, clipped the rear of the
van while shifting lanes, according to the CHP report. He was ejected from the bike and struck the rear of the van.
A second motorcyclist, 37, was struck on the left leg by debris from the crash and suffered a minor laceration. No other injuries were reported.
All eastbound lanes were blocked for several hours while an investigation was conducted.
