Inglewood police are on the lookout for a man who tried to kidnap a 9-year-old boy who was walking home from school.
The boy was nearly abducted on Oct. 14 at about 2:30 p.m. near 108th Street and Spinning Avenue, Inglewood police Lt. Mike McBride said.
"The suspect attempted to grab the victim by force," he said. "As the suspect was chasing the victim, he yelled, 'Get in the car!' The victim was able to get away from the suspect, saw the suspect get into a vehicle and drive eastbound on 108th Street."
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, 20-27 years old, 5 feet 9 to 6 feet tall with a slender build. The suspect was missing some teeth, had a bald or shaved head and wore all black.
The car was described as a gray, older model four-door Toyota Camry or Cressida, possibly a 1984 model.
Anyone with information about the attempted kidnapping can call Detective Bryan Hand at (310) 412-5190 or the 24-hour anonymous hotline number at (888) 41-CRIME.
