Hot-Air Balloon Crashes Into Power Line, Kills 1
INDIO, Calif. (AP) ―
A hot-air balloon ran into a power line Friday in unincorporated Riverside, killing one person and injuring two others.
Riverside County Fire Department spokesman Patrick Chandler says about a half hour after the balloon left from Indio with six people the winds shifted. The balloon crashed into a power line in Mecca.
Chandler says that three of the passengers were taken to a local hospital, where one was pronounced dead.
