A man assaulted in a late-Halloween-night disturbance in downtown Hollywood died of his injuries Saturday, police said.
The man, whose name was withheld, was assaulted by two men at about 3 a.m. near Hollywood Boulevard and North Cherokee Avenue, according to Officer Sam Park, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspects were in their early 20s and had not yet been found. The motive for the assault was unknown.
LAPD's Hollywood station had approximately 300 officers on patrol during the Halloween festivities, Los Angeles police Sgt. David Torres said. In past years, thousands of partiers have thronged clubs and bars in the area late into Halloween night.
