Grief counselors were at Vasquez High School in Acton Tuesday, just one day after a 14-year-old student reportedly shot himself to death in a campus restroom, according to CBS 2's Dave Mecham.
An estimated 300 students and parents attended a candlelight vigil Monday night to remember Jeremiah Finton Lasater, a freshman student who apparently took his own life because he had been bullied.
Authorities were called shortly before to the school at 33630 Red Rover Mine Road just before 1 p.m. Monday, according to county fire department officials.
Lasater was a special needs student and a member of the junior varsity football team. His older brother is a senior at the school.
"It's sad that a tragedy brings everybody together," Melisaa Haggai, whose child attends Vasquez High School, told CBS 2. "Where was everybody when he needed people?"
