Lanes have reopened on the 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights four hours after two people, including off-duty Los Angeles County Police Lt. Gilbert Valderrama, 55, were killed in a crash involving two vehicles.
California Highway Patrol Officer David Porter says Valderrama's SUV slammed into a disabled minivan approximately 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, ejecting him out of the car and killing an 18-year-old who had gotten out of the stalled van. Porter says Valderrama and the teen were pronounced dead at the scene.
