Parts of LA's Griffith Park, scorched by an 800-plus-acre wildfire, are scheduled to open Saturday.
LA fire officials say the blaze is still only 95 percent contained with full containment expected by morning.
City Councilman Tom LaBonge says the north end of the park is scheduled to open Saturday, including the Los Angeles Zoo, Gene Autry Museum and golf courses.
Governor Schwarzenegger and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa toured the park Friday, vowing that restoration efforts will begin immediately.
The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon just east of the Hollywood sign in the Hollywood Hills. Winds around 10 miles per hour and high temperatures fueled the blaze.
Authorities say the fire may have been started by a homeless man who fell asleep smoking a cigarette.
