A brush fire broke out Monday on the north side of Griffith Park near the Los Angeles Zoo, marking the second such blaze in the area within a week.
But the Los Angeles Fire Department appeared to be quickly gaining the upper hand on the blaze, which was reported at 2:27 p.m. on Mineral Wells Trail and was said to be about three acres in size by 3 p.m.
City fire's Brian Humphrey said dozens of firefighters were sent to the scene, and KCAL9 aerial footage showed a lot of white smoke and not many flames.
The fire was in the area of the Wilson and Harding golf courses, according to KCAL9, near the area that burned about a week ago.
