Governor Says He's Frustrated With Washington

Schwarzenegger Is Also Unfazed By Declining Popularity Numbers

SIMI VALLEY (AP) ― Governor Schwarzenegger says he's disappointed about the lack of action in Washington on key issues such as health care reform and immmigration.

He told Tom Brokaw on Sunday morning's edition of "Meet the Press" that he shares the people's frustration at the political stalemate that inevitably seems to occur on major policy issues.

Schwarzenegger said cooperation between Republicans and Democrats is key to moving the national agenda ahead, and added that both parties need to show voters they can accomplish things.

The governor said he's not fazed by his plummeting popularity.

Schwarzenegger's approval rating has dropped from 60 percent to 40 percent recently.

The Governor was interviewed by Brokaw last week at the Reagan Library.
