A Metro Gold Line train struck a compact car Monday in Pasadena, seriously injuring the motorist, authorities said.
The crash occurred late this morning at Del Mar Boulevard east of Raymond Avenue, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.
Paramedics took the driver of the Geo Prizm to a hospital with cuts to his hands, legs and head.
Derderian said the gate was down when the crash occurred. The circumstances were under investigation.
None of the approximately 40 passengers on the train were injured, she said.
