Riverside Man Whistles His Way To World Convention
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
George Oldfield, 72, a longtime Riverside resident and retired UC Riverside entomologist has turned a favorite pastime into an extraordinary talent.
Oldfield will compete this week at the 36th annualĀ
International Whistlers Convention in Louisburg, North Carolina.
This will be his sixth convention and the fourth time he will compete. He was a finalist the last time he attended the convention.
He plans to whistle the country song "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue," because his 91-year-old mother-in-law requested it.
