Woman Shot To Death In Gardena

GARDENA, Calif. A woman was shot to death in Gardena on Monday night, authorities said.

The shooting happened in the 2300 block of West Rosecrans Avenue near Van Ness Avenue was reported around 6:45 p.m., Deputy Aura Sierra of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.

The victim -- an Asian woman -- was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, she said. Her name has not been released.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were sent to the scene Tuesday morning to help Gardena police in the investigation, she said.
