3 Dozen Arrested In Wilmington Gang Crackdown
WILMINGTON, Calif. (CBS) ―
An anti-gang crackdown in the "Ghost Town" area of Wilmington resulted in about three dozen arrests, authorities said Tuesday.
Details of the case were expected to be released at a noon news conference on Terminal Island, Thom Mrozek of the U.S. Attorney's office said.
The investigation, which involved federal and local law enforcement personnel, targeted gang members involved in drug distribution and other crimes in the neighborhood in Wilmington, officials said.
Some three dozen people were arrested, and authorities were taking civil actions against various properties linked to criminal activity, officials said.
