$2.5M Doesn't Keep Anaheim Man Away From Gang

ANAHEIM (AP) ― Two and a half million dollars wasn't enough to keep Jose Luis Munoz away from his homeboys.

The 23-year-old Anaheim man won the judgment after he was hit by a police cruiser in 2005 during a chase. He said he wanted to use the cash to buy a house for his mom in a gang-free neighborhood.

But only six months after finishing a four-year prison stretch, Munoz is back behind bars. Police say he violated terms of his parole when they caught him driving around with three gang buddies and chatting with a female gang member.

Munoz returned to prison the next day. He's serving a 16-month sentence.
