Man Hit By Vehicle After Saving Woman In Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) ― A good Samaritan, who was trying to prevent an apparently suicidal woman from getting hit by traffic, was hospitalized after he was hit by a car on a Southern California street.

Police said 62-year old Charles Bybee of Norwalk is in critical condition.

Witness Kim Taylor of Anaheim said she saw the man help the woman out of the middle of a busy street Monday night in Fullerton where she was apparently trying to get motorists to kill her.

Taylor said the man then went back across the street to talk to a police officer and was hit by a car.

Fullerton police Lt. Tom Basham said the woman was not injured.
