$10K Reward Offered For Info In Deadly Hit-And-Run

COMPTON The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Thursday offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man suspected of intentionally crashing into a Compton taco stand, killing a 15-year-old girl.

Florencio Zendejas, 52, is wanted on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter for the Aug. 9 hit-and-run crash at 1709 N. Willowbrook Ave., sheriff's Detective Danny Coon said.

Zendejas was allegedly driving a red GMC Safari van that crashed into a taco stand operated by the girl's family, killing the girl and severely injuring her 13-year-old sister. Another sister, 25, suffered moderate injuries.

Authorities believe Zendejas was trying to hit a customer at the business, who suffered minor injuries, Coon said.

Zendejas is Hispanic, about 5 feet 7 inches and 175 pounds, according to Coon.

Anyone with information about the suspect's whereabouts was urged to call the Sheriff's Department.
