5 Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Fireworks

PASADENA, Calif. (CBS) ― Five people were arrested overnight in Pasadena, where authorities confiscated more than 1,000 pounds of illegal fireworks at various locations around the city.

The five were booked for felony possession of more than a pound of explosive powder, according to Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department, who added that 15 other people were cited for misdemeanor possession of illegal pyrotechnics.

Firefighters extinguished three apparently fireworks-sparked vegetation fires overnight, and one woman suffered a burn injury from fireworks, Derderian said.
