Firefighters said the blaze may have started in the trailer's laundry room.
A fire in a Thermal motor home Tuesday left four adults and four children homeless and killed 22 goats, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to the blaze in the double-wide trailer at Avenue 77 and Pierce Street just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
Fire investigators said the blaze may have started in the trailer's laundry room.
"It could have been much worse. Fortunately, we were able to make a stand on it and it didn't overrun us," Fire Capt. Bonifacio De la Cruz said.
Damage was estimated at $30,000.
