A Swedish national on trial in connection with a crash of a Ferrari Enzo in Malibu is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in hit-and-run case involving a Porsche.
Bo Stefan M. Eriksson, 44, allegedly drove a Porsche Cayenne when he rear-ended a Ford Explorer, which was stopped at a red light at Sunset and Beverly Glen boulevards, on Jan. 4. Eriksson was charged with hit-and-run, driving without a valid California driver's license and driving without insurance.
City prosecutors say Eriksson refused to give his ID to the other driver after the crash and drove off in his Cayenne. Eriksson did not own the Porsche, but police were able to trace the vehicle back to him, prosecutors said.
A former executive with the now-bankrupt video game company Gizmondo Europe, Eriksson is currently on trial on embezzlement and grand theft charges filed after the Feb. 21 crash of a rare red Ferrari Enzo.
Eriksson initially denied he had been driving the Ferrari, but acknowledged during an April 7 interview that he was at the wheel at the time of the early morning crash. Before his current trial began, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge.
Eriksson has been jailed since his April 7 arrest.
