Man Shot At Encino Market

Police Searching For Gunman

ENCINO A man was shot Wednesday at an Encino market and police were searching the area for the gunman.

The shooting was reported at the Super Sal Market, 17630 Ventura Blvd.,
about 12:10 p.m., said Richard French of the LAPD. 

According to reports from the scene the victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

Some LAPD officers were placed on tactical alert while the search for the gunman continued, French said. A tactical alert allows commanders to hold over officers past the end of their shifts if deemed necessary.

French said the tactical alert was lifted at about 3:30 p.m., but the search was continuing.
