Man Barricades Himself Inside El Monte Home

EL MONTE, Calif. A man wanted on a parole violation Tuesday barricaded himself inside a residence in El Monte and some residents were being evacuated, police said.

The standoff in the 11100 block of Mulhall Street, which began about 6
a.m., was continuing early Tuesday afternoon, El Monte police Detective Ralph Batres said.

No injuries were reported, he said.

It was unclear if the man, who was not holding hostages, was armed,
Batres said.
