A man accused of fatally stabbing his cousin, 9, at a family gathering in Bellflower was ordered Monday to stand trial on a murder charge.
Bellflower Superior Court Judge Richard Goul found sufficient evidence to require Efrain Martinez, 23, to proceed to trial on charges of killing Lesette Guereca last Sept. 10.
Martinez allegedly got into a confrontation with the girl and stabbed her multiple times at a home in the 10400 block of Lowemont Street, where she and her family were visiting relatives.
Martinez was arrested that night and has remained jailed since then. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Feb. 11 for arraignment.
