$92K Taken From Missing Hemet Man's Bank Account

HEMET, Calif. Authorities Thursday asked for the public's help in identifying a man who was caught on tape withdrawing more than $92,000 from the bank account of an 80-year-old Hemet man who has been missing since May 31.

Edward Clayton Andrews was last seen leaving his home in the 42000 block of Florida Avenue about 11 a.m. that Saturday and was reported missing last Wednesday, Sgt. Dennis E. Gutierrez of the sheriff's Hemet station said.

Nearly $100,000 has been withdrawn from Andrews' bank accounts since June 4, Gutierrez said.

The man seen getting cash has used machines in Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties, and may be driving a white Toyota Prius, Gutierrez said.

Andrews is described as white, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 173 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. His vehicle, a gray Saturn Ion with paper plates, is also missing.

Anyone with more information was asked to call the deputies in Hemet at (951) 791-3717 or (951) 950-2444.
