Police Probe 2 East LA Shootings That Left 4 Dead

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Four people are dead in a pair of shootings a few blocks apart in East Los Angeles.

A sheriff's spokesman says the shootings were reported Monday afternoon within 20 minutes of each other but do not appear to be related.

The first shooting occurred around 1:20 p.m. at a used car dealership, where two men were found dead in the garage area.

Authorities say the owner of Jesse's Auto Sales reported that two cars were missing from the lot, and detectives believe the gunmen stole those vehicles.

The other shooting left two people dead in a home in the same neighborhood. Investigators did not immediately release any information on the circumstances of those killings or the victims' identities.
