134 Shut Down In Eagle Rock Following Deadly Crash

Accident May Have Involved Wrong-Way Driver

SAN PEDRO, Calif. (CBS) ― A man was killed Friday in a collision on the eastbound Ventura (134) Freeway in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles,
prompting authorities to shut down eastbound lanes, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The collision occurred just east of the Glendale (2) Freeway around 4:30 a.m., CHP Officer John Seumanutafa said.

The CHP was investigating reports that the accident was a head-on collision involving a wrong-way driver, he said.

All eastbound lanes on the 134 were shut down, and a SigAlert was issued at 5:37 a.m., according to the CHP.

The freeway was reopened a few hours later.

No details of the collision were immediately released.
