Boy, 4, Killed In Possible Drive-By In Echo Park

A 4-year-old boy died after being hit in a possible drive-by shooting in Echo Park.

Los Angeles police are interviewing neighbors and searching for evidence in an Echo Park neighborhood where a 4-year-old boy was fatally shot as he played outside a neighbor's house.
LAPD Lt. John Romero says Roberto Lopez was on a sidewalk just before 4:30 Tuesday afternoon when multiple shots were fired from about 100 yards away by an unknown assailant. Lopez was hit once in the upper body and pronounced dead at a hospital.
Romero says the boy was not the intended target. No arrests have been made.
Romero says witnesses saw a vehicle turning the corner at the time of the shooting, but police have not confirmed whether it was involved in the crime.
