Police are on the hunt for a gunman who fatally shot a 21-year-old El Monte man Friday night.
In a story that is sounding all too commonplace in Los Angeles, a 21-year-old man was gunned down Friday in El Monte.
Authorities say, Christopher Gonzalez was shot while standing on the 12000 block of Magnolia Street near Cogswell Road about 8:50 p.m. Friday, Deputy Ed Hernandez of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.
A newer black Nissan Altima drove up and one of two males inside opened fire with a pistol, Hernandez said.
Hernandez also reported the car went east on Magnolia.
Gonzalez, shot in the upper body, died at the scene, he said.
Anyone with more information on the shooting was asked to call detectives at (323) 890-5500.
