Teen Girl Shot In Drive-By Not Expected To Survive
COMPTON
Authorities say a 16-year-old girl wounded in a drive-by shooting in Compton is not expected to survive.
The girl was sitting in a parked car in the 12800 block of Frailey Avenue when a gray sport utility vehicle drove by at 12:30 p.m. Several shots came from the SUV, which hit the girl in the upper torso, sheriff's Deputy Oscar Butao said.
Butao would not say if a suspect had been identified or what the motive for the shooting might have been.
The girl was taken to a hospital.
Sheriff's homicide detectives are still investigating the shooting, Butao said.
