USC Commit DJ Morgan Tears ACL
Rahshaun Haylock
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
The Los Angeles Times is reporting an MRI has shown a torn ACL and a partial tear of the meniscus for Taft RB
D.J. Morgan and will require surgery.
The senior was injured during Taft's 1st round playoff win vs Garfield last Thursday. Early reports stated Morgan thought the injury may have been a hyper-extended knee but results of an MRI Tuesday revealed the injury to be more severe.
Morgan finishes his high school career as one of the most decorated players in Taft and City Section history. The tailback was about 200 yards shy of 5,000 for his career. He also holds the Taft record for career touchdowns with 71.
As for his track career, its not known whether Morgan will be able to compete this spring. Morgan is the top 110-meter hurdler for his age group in the world.
Morgan has committed to USC, but as reported on our
HS Preview Show, he is planning to visit Arizona State. It is not known how Tuesday's news will affect his recruiting visit.
