Teacher Gets Time For Having Oral Sex With Student

LONG BEACH An ex-substitute teacher at a Long Beach high school was sentenced Friday to 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to having oral sex with a 15-year-old male student.

Dion Semaj Holton, 32, who occasionally taught at Cabrillo High School, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of oral copulation with a minor under 16. He will have to register as a sex offender for life.

Holton, who pleaded guilty in February, admitted to two encounters with the boy at the school during the fall semester in 2007. 

He apologized to the victim, school and school district during the sentencing.

"I have shamed myself and my family," he said.
