Man Arrested In O.C. After Explosive Device Found

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) ― A man, 39, has been arrested after police discovered an artillery round in his vehicle.

David Lee Dunn was booked for investigation of possessing an explosive device.

Police say they found Dunn and some female friends talking in his pickup truck early Friday. When they approached the vehicle, they saw what appeared to be a bomb on the passenger seat.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department bomb squad responded and destroyed the active artillery round simulator.

Police are unsure why Dunn had the explosive.
