Party Clown Gets 12 Years For Molesting Girls

FONTANA, Calif. (AP) ― A birthday party clown is pleading guilty to molesting two San Bernardino County girls as part of a plea deal calling for a 12-year prison sentence.

David Albert Lemus, who wears white pancake makeup, red wig and nose, and floppy shoes in his role as Trim-Trim the Clown, agreed to the deal during a Superior Court hearing in Fontana. He will be sentenced Oct. 2.

The now-51-year-old Lemus was arrested in costume in 2005 after two girls ages 12 and 14 told police Lemus molested them at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino.

He's pleading guilty to charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child and oral copulation by threat, both felonies. Five additional felony molestation charges will be dismissed.
