Authorities say a Cudahy City Councilman was fired on and his brother was hit and injured after the two chased a car full of taggers who had just vandalized the councilman's liquor store.
Police say the Cadillac Escalade of 48-year-old councilman Osvaldo Conde was pierced by at least seven bullets Monday, and one of them hit his 28-year-old brother Erik Conde in the shoulder.
He had only minor injuries.
The taggers had scrawled on the door of Osvaldo Conde's store at about 10:30 p.m.
Osvaldo Conde saw the taggers flee in a Nissan Altima then chased the car for about two miles.
Police Capt. Herb Aguirre says someone in the car signaled to a man on the street who fired on the SUV.
No one has been arrested.
Anyone with information can contact Detective Sergeant Richardson of the Maywood Police Department at (323)562-5737.
