Calif. Congresswoman Gets Her Foreclosed Home Back

TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) ― A California Congresswoman who lost her home to foreclosure may be getting it back.

The Torrance Daily Breeze says a broker has dropped his lawsuit against Laura Richardson and her lender. James York bought Richardson's Sacramento home after she failed to make mortgage payments. He sued after her lender, Washington Mutual, rescinded its foreclosure.

With the suit settled, the Torrance-area Democrat apparently gets back the house.

Richardson also has been in arrears on two other homes. She has said her personal finances got messy because she fought three political campaigns in less than two years. She won a state Assembly seat in 2006, went on to win a Congressional seat and is now running for re-election.
