Ex-Councilman Used City Credit Card For Sex Calls

Ramon Hernandez Was Sentenced To 6 Months In Jail

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) ― Former Colton Councilman Ramon Hernandez has been sentenced to six months in jail for misusing a city credit card to make $5,500 worth of sex phone calls and pay for motel rooms.

Superior Court Judge Ronald Christianson also placed 48-year-old Hernandez on five years' probation. Hernandez had pleaded guilty to 24 felony counts for unauthorized credit card charges from December 2004 to May 2006.

Thursday's hearing included release of a lurid probation report describing Hernandez's battle with alcohol, addiction to methamphetamines and a complicated homosexual affair.

Hernandez will serve his jail time on weekends at the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center in Devore.
