School Locked Down During Hunt For Robbery Suspect

Centennial High School was locked down Tuesday as authorities searched for one of two men wanted for allegedly robbing a woman near the campus.

Centennial High School in Compton school was placed on lockdown Tuesday while authorities searched for one of two men who allegedly robbed a woman near the campus.
The crime occurred about 7:30 a.m. near the school in the 2600 block of N. Central Avenue, Sgt. Raul Regalado of the sheriff's Compton Station said.
The suspects drove to the campus, where one was arrested and the other ran off, Regalado said.
Jewelry was taken from the woman, who was not injured, Regalado said.
The lockdown was called off at 9:15 a.m., but the search for the second suspect was continuing.
