A former Roman Catholic priest has been sentenced to three years in prison for molesting a 9-year-old boy in Los Angeles.
George Miller, 70, sentenced Friday by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Ulfig.
Miller was accused of molesting several boys but pleaded guilty to one count of committing a lewd act on one boy.
Two of the other alleged victims -- now men -- denounced Miller as a pedophile, saying they trusted him as the voice of God.
But a half-dozen people from Miller's last parish stood outside the San Fernando courthouse saying "Not guilty." They did not explain their comments.
The molestation occurred while Miller was assigned to Guardian Angel Church in Pacoima in the late 1980s.
He served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles until he was placed on inactive leave in 1997. He was removed from the clergy in 2005.
