Man Tries To Save Cat In Tree, Falls To His Death

ORANGE, Calif. A 27-year-old Orange man was killed Wednesday while trying to rescue a cat from a tree.

Scott Buehler climbed a 50-foot Italian cypress tree at Meats Avenue and Nordic Street to rescue a cat that had become stranded, Orange police Sgt. Dan Adams told the Orange County Register.

Buehler managed to grab hold of the cat, but lost his grip and fell to his death on the sidewalk below.

Firefighters were called to help Buehler, but paramedics from the Orange Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene, according to the Register.
