CHP Officer Injured After Car Overturns On 5 Fwy
SANTA CLARITA (CBS) ―
A California Highway Patrol officer overturned a patrol car while exiting the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway at the Valencia Boulevard off-ramp Monday night, but did not appear to be seriously injured, authorities said.
The accident occurred at 8:34 p.m., CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.
The officer was taken to a hospital, Kimball said.
It was initially thought that the officer was chasing a motorcyclist, but was not, Kimball said.
The motorcyclist was being chased on the southbound side of the freeway about the same time and exited at McBean Parkway. The CHP canceled the pursuit, Kimball said.
