Josh Rubenstein Is Now CERT-ifiable!!
Well, Certified To Render First Aid And Help Before The First Responders Get There, That Is
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
He doesn't wear his green jacket around the office, but that doesn't mean KCAL 9's weatherman Josh Rubenstein isn't proud of his newest accomplishment. Meterologist, pilot, husband, father, Chicago Cubs fan (okay, Cubs fan can be a chore, not an accomplishment) but ... now add CERT member to that list.
CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team and Josh received his certificate of achievement and green CERT jacket last week after graduating from his seven-week course!
You go, Josh!
Calling it "one of the best things I ever did," Josh learned basic life-saving techniques, how to put out fires, how to render aid before the first responders arrive and much more.
"I highly recommend everyone take these courses," says Rubenstein, "they're easy, fun and they can save a life." He adds, "I think after the 5.4 earthquake, it was a wake-up call that we all need to be better prepared...just in case."
The classes are sponsored by the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
