1 Killed, 6 Injured When Bus, Car Collide
SANTA CLARITA (AP) ―
A woman was killed Friday and six other people suffered minor injuries, including five children, in a collision between a passenger vehicle and a bus in the Santa Clarita area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman, about 25, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 8 a.m. near Constitution Avenue and The Old Road, CHP Officer David Porter said. She was in the smaller vehicle, Porter said.
Paramedics sent to the scene transported the bus driver and a child that was riding in the bus to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Inspector Ron Haralson of the county fire department said.
Four other children aboard the public transit bus were treated at the scene for minor injuries, Haralson said.
There were about two dozen people aboard the bus when the collision occurred, Haralson said. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
