Small Plane Crashes In Burbank, 3 Injured

BURBANK, Calif. (AP) ― Three people have been hurt in a small plane crash near Bob Hope Airport in Burbank.

Fire officials say the Cessna 172 single engine plane snagged some power lines and a utility pole on Clybourn Avenue before coming to rest on top of a car parked on the street.

Burbank Deputy Fire Marshall Jorge Martinez says a woman on the street whose car was parked near the crash site saw the plane coming down and ran. Martinez says she fell and scraped her knees.

Martinez says two men and one woman who were aboard the plane were hospitalized with moderate injuries.

An FAA spokesman says the plane was headed to Brackett Field Airport in La Verne but diverted to Burbank because of a reported fuel problem. He says the plane was landing when it overshot the runway and crashed.
