Man, 25, Broadsided, Killed On 405

LOS ANGELES A 25-year-old man was killed on the 405 Freeway early Saturday when his stalled sports car was broadsided by another vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash on the northbound side of the freeway at Normandie Avenue was reported to the CHP at 1:30 a.m.

The deceased was driving a 1970 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia when it was broadsided by a 1985 Dodge driven by a 45-year-old man from Orange, the CHP reported.

The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m.

A passenger in the Ghia, a 23-year-old woman, was also taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center reportedly suffering from major injuries.

The 45-year-old Orange man was also taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries.
